Real installs. Real Melbourne homes. We post photos and full details from every job we finish — including the technical detail behind how we solved it.

Mount Eliza — Zappi v2.1 with Tesla Powerwall 3 + 40A supply

Zappi installed on a home with a Powerwall 3, an expansion pack and around 15kW of DC-coupled solar. The circuit lands on the supply side of the Tesla Gateway rather than the home side, so the battery can't discharge into the car — the owner buys at wholesale prices overnight and would rather fill from the grid than from storage. Grid CT hardwired at the main switchboard instead of a wireless harvi, which goes quiet when a battery holds grid flow near zero. Charge current set at commissioning so total demand stays inside a 40A main switch, avoiding a supply upgrade.

Charger: myenergi Zappi v2.1 (black, 6.5m tethered). Install: single-phase, carport post mount, dedicated 32A circuit, ~9m cable run. Vehicle: Jaecoo J5. Certificate of Electrical Safety issued on completion.

Evnex E2 Core EV charger mounted on a rendered verandah pillar, status ring lit green.
Switchboard with the charger's current transformer clamped at the grid connection point, upstream of the home battery's power meter.
Tethered Type 2 connector plugged into the charge port of a BYD Sealion 7.
Preston — Evnex E2 Core with sonnen battery + dual-inverter solar

Evnex E2 Core installed alongside about 13kW of solar across two inverters and a sonnenBatterie with blackout backup. The circuit lands on the grid supply, not the battery-backed side, so charging can't draw down the backup reserve. The CT clamp sits at the grid connection point upstream of the battery's own meter, so load management reads the whole property and eases the BYD back before the 63A main is troubled.

Charger: Evnex E2 Core (Volcanic, 5m tethered). Install: single-phase, rendered pillar mount, dedicated 32A circuit, ~10m cable run. Vehicle: BYD Sealion 7. Certificate of Electrical Safety issued on completion.

Point Cook — Zappi v2.1 with Tesla Powerwall 3 + solar integration

Zappi installed with existing solar and a Tesla Powerwall 3. The circuit lands upstream of the Tesla Gateway, so the battery can't discharge into the car. Grid CT on the normal supply line, outside the backup zone, so the charger reads true net grid flow after the Powerwall has taken its share. Export margin and minimum green level set at commissioning to keep charging on genuine surplus — on a DC-coupled Powerwall 3 those settings do the work, since there's no separate battery current for Avoid Drain to read.

Charger: myenergi Zappi v2.1 (white, 6.5m tethered). Install: single-phase, brick pillar mount, short cable run. Vehicle: BYD Sealion 7. CoES lodged with Energy Safe Victoria.
